Camping in the White Mountains, NH

There’s a reason that Twin Mountain Campground one of the most popular and sought-after campgrounds within the White Mountains; it’s just a minute drive from some of the most epic day hikes in the area (Zealand Recreation Area and the Twin Mountain’s). The campground itself has every amenity you can think of: showers (FREE hot showers), toilets (that actually flush), and potable water (no filtering needed). It’s also one of the most popular campgrounds in the White Mountains for the same reasons.

There’s plenty to explore at camp even if you don’t want to head out on any trails since the Ammonoosuc River passes right through the campground and sits across the river from North and Middle Sugarloaf Mountain’s. You can dip your feet in the frigid water, check for macro-invertebrates under the river rocks, or flyfish for brook and rainbow trout.

Camping near Mt Washington, NH is the ultimate destination for recreation enthusiasts and Twin Mountain Campground is just minutes away. The Presidential Range can be seen from the entrance at camp, shadowing over the area while creating breathtaking views! Take a day hike to the Lakes of the Clouds shelter, a popular destination at the top of Tuckerman Ravine. Or, stay at camp and take in the views of the observatory at the top of Mt Washington!

Camping near North Conway, NH

Located Just 20 miles from downtown North Conway, NH – Twin Mountain Campground is close to the epicenter of all that the North Conway are has to offer – Cathedral Ledge (popular with climbers), Echo Lake State Park, and Cranmore Mountain Resort. North Conway is also known for its large number of outlet stores and expansive downtown featuring historic ‘mom and pop’ shop’s, restaurants and coffee shops.  Perfect for a rainy day trip away from camp with the family!

Camping near the Cog Railway, NH

The Mount Washington Cog Railway continues to thrill passengers from all over the world. With its dramatic ascent to the summit of the highest peak in the Northeast, Twin Mountain Campground is the perfect starting point and just 15 minutes away from its Base Station! Even the drive from the campground to the Cog Railway along Base Station Road is beautiful– every twist and turn reveals new perspectives on the Presidential Range. Make sure to stop for some pictures at Upper Ammonoosuc Falls, an impressive rocky cascade and popular swimming hole just a few yards off the road. And keep your eyes open for wildlife- moose and bear sightings are not uncommon along the Base road!

Camping on the Ammonoosuc River, NH

Featuring a half mile of pristine river frontage on the Ammonoosuc River, Twin Mountain Campground is the perfect destination for water enthusiasts. Regularly stocked with Rainbow Trout and Salmon, the fishing at camp is unrivaled! Kayaking and river tubing is a great way to cool off in the summer months, or put your camp chair at the river’s edge and just relax while you watch the school’s of native Brook Trout swim at your feet.
